3.5.1 Laboratory School/Faculty Associate Hiring Procedure

Policy

The term 'Laboratory School/Faculty Associate' refers to those appointments that do not hold rank in an academic department and are assigned totally to one of the University Laboratory Schools. These appointments may be made on either a Continuing or Non-continuing Appointment Type depending upon the qualifications of the position incumbent and the allocation of the position.

Laboratory School/Faculty Associate appointments are exempted from the State University Civil Service System.  A Laboratory School/Faculty Associate appointment may carry an administrative title reflective of the position in addition to the Laboratory School designation.  Laboratory School/Faculty hiring is conducted using the University's Applicant Tracking System which can be accessed through the Human Resources website.
